The Secret of Us Novel

The “The Secret of Us” series is based on the novel “Jai Sorn Ruk /Heart-Hidden Love” by Thai author Meenarm.

The screenwriter has taken the plot and made it more coherent, ensuring that the storylines flow seamlessly and the characters come alive.

Unfortunately, because the series is only 8 episodes long, many scenes from the novel have been omitted. If you’re someone who struggles to keep up with a series, it might be worth considering reading the entire novel beforehand.

The Secret of US marks a milestone as the first GL series produced by Thailand’s national television network. While there’s still space to refine the storytelling and cinematography, the electric chemistry between the two lead actresses has captured the hearts of fans everywhere.

Many are already hailing it as a contender to outshine the widely celebrated Gap the Series and Blank the Series, solidifying its place as the best Thai GL drama of 2024. Of course, we’re also eagerly anticipating their follow-up project, Only You set to debut next year.

“The Secret of Us” marks several firsts:

    • Channel 3’s debut GL series

    • A prime-time slot (Mondays at 10:30 PM Thai time)

    • International distribution through Netflix and YouTube

    • 13+ rating, allowing for mature storytelling while remaining accessible

Best Scenes of The Secret of Us

💔 The Hospital Breakup Scene

One of the most emotionally intense moments in the series comes when the actress character, full of love and desperation, decides to break up with the doctor in the hospital. The scene is a masterclass in layered emotion—Orm’s performance shines with quiet heartbreak, self-sacrifice, and suppressed longing, while 00K reacts with restrained devastation. Their interaction is so real and mature, it feels like watching two people truly fall apart.

💍 The Wedding Ending – A GL Fairytale Come True

Instead of the typical ambiguous or bittersweet endings seen in many GL dramas, The Secret of Us delivers a full-on celebration of sapphic love: the leads in white gowns, exchanging vows and rings. It’s romantic, unapologetically joyful, and feels like a reward for every moment of longing, conflict, and growth they endured.

💋 The Final Kiss Scene – Pure Love and Desire

In the final episode, the lead couple shares a kiss that is both tender and deeply passionate. Unlike their earlier, slightly tentative moments, this kiss is full of emotion and certainty—it’s not just skin-deep chemistry, but the embodiment of a love that has matured and healed.

🛏️ The Drunken Confession Night (Episode 4)

After holding back for so long, the doctor finally lets down her guard under the influence of alcohol. What could’ve been just another cliché “drunk kiss” becomes a deeply symbolic moment of vulnerability and desire. The accompanying string music enhances the emotional depth of the scene, turning it into one of the most talked-about sequences in GL fandom.
